On Monday June 17, 2002 a parade in honor of the Stanley Cup Champions, Detroit Red Wings was held in downtown Detroit and I had the privilege of attending the event.  An estimated 1.2 million people attended the parade.

Just in case you have been told that you have to get downtown hours prior to the parade to get your spot, not true, we got down there at 11:00 AM and got a great spot as you will see by the pictures that was taken, bummer for those that were down there at 5:00 AM.
